NARS Man Ray holiday 2017 collection- Part 2

So as I promised you in part 1 of this post, I truly couldn't restrain myself with the beautiful Man Ray collection and had to buy more pieces of it. The chosen ones were these 2 beauties:

NARS Man Ray holiday 2017 collection

NARS x Man Ray Love game eyeshadow palette

Love game eyeshadow palette

Love game eyeshadow palette

The Love game eyeshadow palette immediately caught my eye due to it's beautiful colors. The eye looks possibilities it offers are varied and interesting just like I like an eyeshadow palette to be and the packaging is gorgeous.
Unfortunately and like in many other eyeshadow palettes, the matte eyeshadows are a bit hard to work with and I have to make an effort to build the intense pigmentation I'm looking for. But when I do get it, the final look combining the mattes and the shimmers is simply stunning.
The palette was inspired by the vibrant muse of Man Ray, Ady Fidel, the first African American model to be featured in a fashion magazine, and interestingly enough, this palette is exclusively for international retailers, meaning it is not sold in the US- a surprising decision for NARS to make, considering everything is sold in the US.

NARS x Man Ray The Kiss Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set

The Kiss Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set

The Kiss Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set

When I saw this set it was love at first sight. A golden cosmetic case with 4 full-sized Velvet Matte Lip Pencils? Sold!
There are 2 new, limited-edition shades and 2 existing ones:

  • Wild Ways- limited-edition, sheer mahogany
  • Spellbound- limited-edition, sheer shimmering pink-beige
  • Endangered Red- rich Bordeaux
  • Toundra- rust.

The Kiss Velvet Matte Lip Pencil Set

The colors are indeed beautiful and impressive when you first look at them, however since lately I have gotten used to the consistency and durability of liquid lipstick, I found the Velvet matte lip pencils to be too sheer for me and they don't survive not even a glass of water without fading.
Would I buy this set again though? Of course. As a makeup collector this is a must for me. Would I recommend it for someone who's not a collector? Definitely not. There are much more successful products in this collection to invest your money in, such as the love triangles.

All and all I think that NARS outdid themselves with the Man Ray collection, and I cannot wait to see what they will bring out next!

NARS Man Ray holiday 2017 collection- Part 1

NARS has been a long time favorite brand of mine, and I think the main reason is because it has always kept it's high quality. No matter which products they decide to launch, you can be sure their performance will be impeccable. That's why I always pick up something from their holiday collection each year, and this year I really couldn't restrain myself.
The Man Ray collection is simply beautiful and I truly wanted it all.

But after a lot of thinking, I choose this threesome, and even received a little gift with purchase:

NARS Man Ray holiday 2017 collection

The veil cheek palette

The veil cheek palette

This is the most beautiful face palette, which contain the following shades:
  • Laguna Sun Wash diffusing bronzer (diffused brown powder with golden shimmer)
  • Lovesick blush (satin watermelon)
  • Surreal highlighter (glistening bronze rose)

The veil cheek palette

Laguna is their classic bronzer, a medium brown with warm undertones and a matte finish, only in the new special texture which gives you that natural sun kissed color. The Lovesick blush (medium dark pink coral with a luminous sheen) and Surreal highlighter (rosy copper with warm undertones and a metallic sheen) are limited edition, pigmented, and have that capability to make you look blushed and highlighted in the most flattering way.

This highlighter is simply irresistible, just look!

Double take overexposed glow highlighter

A gorgeous medium gold with warm orange undertones highlight, which is no doubt a collectors item. Did you really think I'll be able to skip on it?
I love highlighters which are straight on "boom in your face" type, and if the highlighter in the veil cheek palette, Surreal, is a bit more tamed, this one shines away and can be seen "from the moon".

NARS love triangle Dolce Vita

As part of the collection NARS also launched the love triangles, pairs of their blushes and Audacious lipsticks in a mini size. I choose the pair Dolce Vita, a blush I have long wanted to own, that came with Audrey Audacious lipstick.

NARS love triangle Dolce Vita

Dolce Vita blush

Dolce Vita blush

Dolce Vita is a dark berry rose red with subtle sheen kind of a blush, which fits almost everyone, although I would not recommend it for those of you with a lot of natural redness in their cheeks since it might accentuates it. The durability, like all NARS blushes, is excellent and the color did not fade even after 8 hours on my cheeks.

Audrey Audacious lipstick

Audrey Audacious lipstick

The Audacious lipstick series with it's 40 shade collection is one of the most successful ones NARS has launched at the time. Audrey is a warm plum with a satin finish and the sense on the lips is smooth and moisturizing. Definitely a recommended one.

This is the classic and famous Laguna bronzer, I reviewed it in so many versions and posts in the past, and it's an oldy but most definitely a goody:

And remember I said in the beginning of this post that I tried to restrain myself? Well, I tried, unsuccessfully, and that's why there's a part 2 to this post, coming your way soon!

Huda Beauty

When the brand Huda Beauty first landed in Sephora Spain a few months ago, I found myself in a bit of a dilemma. On one hand, I'm a beauty addict who has the natural curiosity and need to try everything new. On the other hand, I'm an Israeli and forever will be, no matter where in the world I live.
But I do believe that every person is entitled to have an opinion, as long as they can remain respectful and open to opinions different than their own. And if you let your personal opinions intervene with your business? Well, that's your problem.
So I eventually decided I won't let history, politics and hatred enter here, my happy place of all things beauty, and approached this brand without any prejudice.

It was obvious to me that her iconic Textured shadows palette- Rose gold edition will be the first thing I'll buy, what I didn't know was that not a lot of time after the new and stunning Desert dusk eye shadow palette will drop. Of course I had to buy her too. And that's why you will get to know both of them in this post.
I also think It's always interesting to see an evolution of a beauty brand throughout it's products, and in this case the evolution is pretty noticeable.

Lets start with the Textured shadows palette Rose gold edition.

Textured shadows palette- Rose gold edition

This one came out about 2 years ago and had so much hipe at that time. A beautiful combination of 18 colors and textures which allows the possibility to create many interesting eye looks. However, the packaging..
A transparent cover with no mirror which gives the impression of a very delicate product, and in addition there were a lot of complaints about the difficulty of using the eye shadows, especially the textured ones.
Now is the time to point out that this palette is not for beginners. The versatility, the color scheme, the different textures which demands an experienced hand, all of this has to be taken into consideration when you're thinking about buying a palette such as this one.

Textured shadows palette- Rose gold edition

All and all, this is a nice palette. I found myself creating more looks with the rose tone colors rather than the yellow green ones so it wasn't that diverse for me, but the result was always beautiful, lasted all day and there was zero fallout.

The Desert dusk eye shadow palette, just like her older sister, is yet again not for beginners.

Desert dusk eye shadow palette

It also contains 18 eye shadows, this time with a strong purple tendencies and it's a beautiful palette. The packaging is solid and with a mirror and if I see the Rose gold edition palette as more of a spring - summer compatible, the Desert dusk is definitely more autumn - winter friendly.

Desert dusk eye shadow palette

With this palette I found myself creating much more versatile looks, and that is why if I had to choose only one of them I would choose this one. Somehow the combination of these 18 shadows works better and make me want to be more creative, which for me indicates that this one is a winner.
In terms of staying power, just like her older sister, the eye shadows last beautifully all day and the fallout is not an issue.
Except for Cosmo. Which is pure pressed glitter shadow.

And in case you're interested to know how to handle an eye shadow such as Cosmo, I'm happy to introduce you to the next product, which is the perfect answer to glitter fallout.
The Too Faced glitter glue is pure magic. Just a tiny amount and every glitter eye shadow you put on it will not move. Ever. Or at list until you decide to take it off.
This is the best solution for that problem and since a little goes a long way, I feel this was a worthy investment.

Here are the 2 beauties side by side, the only repeating color in both palettes is Angelic so if you still want to buy the 2 palettes- they definitely complement each other.

The iconic liquid lipsticks are what this brand is most known for, so I had to try at least one of them. First I have to point out that there are a lot, a lot, of options (16 to be exact). However, when I stood in front of the stand in Sephora my first impression was that there are many that look alike.
When you start swatching you do see a slight difference among them, but not enough to justify so many in my opinion.
At the end I choose the Bombshell duo, a beautiful and flattering pinky nude:

Liquid-matte

Lliquid-matte bombshell

Liquid-matte bombshell

I have to say that what surprised me the most here was how easy they both apply. I don't need to put any effort into applying them, the result is beautiful and the sensation on the lips is comfortable and non drying.
The only disappointing side is the staying power, they stain my coffee mug and when it comes to a light meal they completely cave in and disappear. That of course won't stand in my way of buying more of them and already on it's way to me is the gorgeous  contour & strobe set in Trophy wife!

And I'll leave you with a video of a comparison between the 2 palettes:

A huge change & Kiko's candy split capsule collection

A huge change...

I'm writing my blog for almost 5.5 years now, a respectful period by any means. And when I'm thinking about it, the majority of these years it has been written from Spain and not from Israel and still I continued to write it in Hebrew- the language that forever will be my mother's tongue. Over the years I have often played with the thought of writing the blog in Spanish or English and by that turning to a wider international audience of beauty lovers around the world, but the fear of writing in a different language than my natural one was stronger and I've stayed in the Hebrew comfortable and known zone.

But as we approach the end of yet another year, the need to change and "freshen up" got stronger, and now I'm finally "jumping into the water". In order for you, my loyal Israeli readers to be able to continue enjoying my blog, I'll be writing in English and not in Spanish. I do hope you will continue to read my blog, no matter in which language it is!

Kiko's candy split capsule collection

Kiko's candy split capsule collection

As part of Kiko's 20 years celebration they've launched the Candy split capsule collection, which is all about (how surprising)- sweetness!
As per usual, I wanted to buy all of it but managed to restrain myself (more or less) to the following products:

Candy split serum

Candy split serum

I love creams, and from a very young age I've been maintaining a beauty regimen which includes cleaning my face morning and night, using serum, eye cream, face cream and SPF, but I'm by no means loyal and I always like to change it up and trying new products. That's why the moment I saw this beautiful product from the collection I had to buy it.
Inside this beautiful packaging there's a very light and nourishing serum, which does give that brightening and glowing effect I love. I think that it's nice to find such a good serum without spending a lot of money and I enjoy using it every morning.

Candy split makeup blender

Candy split makeup blender

Candy split makeup blender

Oh, makeup sponges. Since the invention of the Beauty Blender that changed the way we apply makeup, there has been so many attempts to imitate it, and none of them was as successful as the original.
So here's one more imitation for you, this time in the shape of macaroons. And I don't get it. I understand that in the spirit of this candy collection it was logical to create a sponge in the shape of a macaroon and not an egg. But my God is it unusable!
And I've tried. I really have. But no matter how I tried to apply my foundation with it, it just didn't work. So unfortunately this is a sweet yet unsuccessful product for me.

This one was love at first sight. Which is a bold saying for me, a powder highlight addict.
But this creamy highlighter is simply beautiful. It has that perfect combination of peachy pink with hints of gold that gives the most flattering illumination.
I prefer to apply and blend it with the tip of my finger, that way I have a lot more control and it allows me to build it up nicely.

Candy split lip scrub

Candy split lip scrub

Candy split lip scrub

I have to say that the Barcelona weather has been pretty kind to my lips, and normally they don't feel dry or choppy as they feel when I visit oh so dry Madrid for example.
However using a lot of liquid lipsticks lately has been taking it's toll and the candy split lip scrub came just in time for me. I have developed a "night lip routine" which includes removing my lipstick carefully with micellar water, scrubbing my lip gently with the candy split lip scrub, patting them dry and applying a rich balm.
Happy to say it's been working, and have I mentioned the great strawberry scent?

Candy split lips mattifier

Candy split lips mattifier

I have to admit that this is kind of an unnecessary product, yet it intrigued me enough to buy it.
Lips mattifier. Basically a transparent gel which mattifies cream lipsticks and gives them a matte finish instead.
The idea is nice. Gimmicky but nice. Useful though? Not so much, at least not for me.
But it does do what it promise, so if by any chance you've been looking for such a product, know that this one does work.

Candy split brush kit

Candy split brush kit

My endless love story with make up brushes. This time they are pink and gold and come in the sweetest bag- a foundation brush, a powder brush and a concealer/eyeshadow brush.
I love this kit, I think it's useful and the brushes are nice quality and this can also be a really good gift for someone.

I will leave you with the image video of the collection and with my usual recommendation to always visit Kiko's stores if you get the chance, I truly think that their's no competition for the price - quality this brand offers.
